In Pono Church 2, as we venture thought 2 Corinthians, Paul opens his heart more fully than ever, defending his leadership while sharing tears, triumphs, and the breathtaking truth that “God comforts us in our troubles, so we can comfort others” (2 Cor 1:4). Shift Our Understanding of Suffering

This week, as we kick off our latest series, Pono Church 2, Pastor Mark’s exploration of 2 Corinthians 1 and 2 challenges us to shift our understanding of suffering. God doesn’t shield us from it but uses it to shield us in Him. Like Shadrach in the fiery furnace, we encounter God within trials, not by escaping them. Paul addresses Corinthian dysfunction by returning them to the Gospel, where all of God’s promises find their “yes and amen” in Christ.
