Small Group Facilitator

Vision and Values

Why Small Groups?

  • Authentic relationships are the best environment for spiritual growth.

  • We believe that it’s in the context of intentional relationships where significant life change takes place best. Small groups are the best place where real life and real issues are discussed. This is the environment to celebrate the successes and good times of life - and comfort one another one another in the tough and disappointing times. It's a safe place to be encouraged, to learn, and to be challenged to grow in our relationship with the Lord Jesus.

What is the facilitator’s ministry?

In general, the facilitator serves to encourage the participation of all group members in discussing the study questions. This includes:

  • Initiating: Start the discussion and keep things rolling when needed.

  • Guiding: Keep things on track and try to finish on time

  • Clarifying: Be ready to clarify a question or a response to maximize group members’ understanding.

  • Affirming: Encourage members by affirming the value of each person and their contribution to the discussion

The Facilitator’s role is not be the answer person, but rather to help others arrive to the answer or share their thoughts on the question.
